Sub: Your efforts to reduce attrition levels from ONGC

News Letter – 29

STOP NOT TILL THE GOAL IS ACHIEVED

Dear Members,

With the changing business scenario in Oil and Gas Sector in India as well as abroad, a vast arena of opportunities has opened for experienced, knowledgeable engineers and managers in this sector. In this scenario ONGC is turning out to be the main pool of talent and resources for the companies all across the world.

Today, ONGC has major plans of expansion in the upstream as well as downstream and hence, a major requirement of talented personnel to sustain such an expansion.  There is no shortage of talent in ONGC as all of us have been recruited who are often from reputed institutes and have good academic background.

ONGC has become a poaching ground for all multinationals all over the world looking for shortcut to success. The extensive exposure of our officers in multi-disciplines of E&P and R&D makes them totally ready for productive work by the multinationals operating in the field of E&P very often with resounding success.

The past year has also seen the management coming out with a number of pro employee welfare measures in order to enhance the morale of its employees but the attrition levels has not reduced. Time has come that we the members of ASTO have to take an active part in directing the success of our organizational goals by donning our thinking caps. One of the ways may be to find out ways to retain our talented technical manpower.

ASTO Delhi wants to bring your recommendations for talent retention in the organization before the management in the form of a report. For this we require your suggestions on the steps to be taken by management to stop the exodus of its professionals from the  core disciplines of ONGC. In this we may give suggestion on our proposed pay revision also.

Friends, we hope you will contribute some of your valuable time in giving your constructive and positive suggestions that may help the organization to reach targeted goals through proper management of our vast reserves of talent.  You may send your views/ suggestions at this email id:  sanchita_barah@yahoo.com.

Looking forward to your responses by 23.07.2007
