Subject: Empanelment of Hospitals at Delhi

Sir,

I would like to draw your attention to the above mentioned subject. ONGC is having a policy of empanelling Hospitals in various locations of the city where ONGC is having its Offices.

In Delhi also ONGC has empanelled reputed Hospitals. However, most of the employees are staying in areas which are on the periphery of Delhi or nearby towns. A number of our employees posted at Delhi are residing in the East Delhi area. However, there is no reputed Hospital on ONGC’s panel in that area. The employees therefore have to go to hospitals like Apollo, Batra etc. in case of any medical requirement.

In a meeting held on 06.03.2006 in the chamber of GM(CA&C) with ASTO, Delhi, the issue of empanelling new hospitals, especially in areas where a large number of employees are staying be taken up on priority was discussed and agreed to. The whole was to be completed by March ’06.

However, till date not a single Hospital has been empanelled so far. Infact there are certain areas where ONGC is not having a single reputed Hospital on panel though majority of our employees are staying in areas like East Delhi, Noida, and Dwarka etc. These are far flung areas. Most of these areas are having very reputed and known Hospitals like the Max/ Fortis chain of Hospitals. Most of these Hospitals have the requisite Income Tax Clearances also.

Sir, it is unfortunate that such an issue has to be brought to your notice as despite being a top most organization of this country, we have not been able to take on panel reputed Hospitals in the vicinity of the residence of our employees. Though the issue is genuine, however, the pace at which the work of empanelment is proceeding is very unsatisfactory, especially in the areas where we do not have reputed Hospital on panel like East Delhi, Noida and Dwarka etc.

Accordingly, I request your urgent attention on the aforesaid subject matter.

With warm regards.

Yours sincerely,

(Amit Kumar)
