Subject: Equal Opportunity to all Officers of ONGC
Sir,
I would like to draw your attention to the
recent episode of one E4 finance discipline officer being
made E7 level officer in MRPL, setting aside all the norms
and procedures.
It has come as a shock to the officer community
that an officer, who had submitted his resignation letter
in January, 2006 has now been inducted in MRPL as E7 level
officer. I am sure ONGC as a company that boasts about its
transparent and open policy would not malign its name by violating
the procedures, as MRPL is a subsidiary of ONGC and as a public
sector answerable to the Government of India and the people.
In fact we can quote instances where on one
hand an open offer for applying in new opportunities was launched
on ongcreports.net and now a number of officers have been
posted to OVL, MRPL without any interview or short listing.
This has brought the till now touted openness and transparency
in such issues under the scanner.
I would request you to reverse such decisions
and give every one of us a fair chance to participate in the
new opportunities.
With warm regards.
Yours sincerely,
(Amit Kumar)
