Subject: Admissions to the schools at Delhi for wards
of ONGC Employees
Sir,
In recent times ONGC has been increasing
its activities at Delhi. This has resulted in increase in
transfer of number of officers to Delhi Office.
Most of the officers are middle management
officers who have school going children. The transfers are
taking place in the month of May. By the time the transferees
join Delhi office the schools at Delhi have already completed
their admissions formalities and the officers’ end up
facing lot of problems in getting admissions for their children.
Sir, many companies as part of their Corporate
Social Responsibility provides donations/aid to the schools
and also in turn has an understanding to provide admissions
to the wards of their employees. In fact this not only helps
in the company carrying out its social responsibilities as
well as helps its employees also.
ONGC has also been providing aid/donations
to Schools at Delhi from time to time. In recent past ONGC
has provided donations to the tune of nearly Rs. 28 lakhs
to Sanskriti School, Delhi and Sardar Patel Vidyalaya. The
conditions are such that officers are running from school
to school and not getting admissions. A positive action from
your side would definitely help in reducing this problem for
our officers.
It would be very helpful to our employees
if we can, as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility
give donations to schools and also have an understanding with
few of the schools in and around Delhi like Apeejay group
of Schools, DPS Schools, Sanskriti, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya
and Ahlcon Public School etc. to provide admissions to the
wards of ONGC employees. We can also request the schools that
have already been given donations/sponsorships to help ONGC
employees in this endeavor.
I had the opportunity to discuss this issue with you few days
back and had shared with you our concern on this issue. Since
the transfer season is beginning, your early and positive
action would go a long way in mitigating the problems faced
by officers when they are getting transferred to Delhi.
With warm regards.
Yours sincerely,
